	Community at St George is made up of many groups. Our community offers opportunities for members of all ages. Return to Top Outreach Committee - People-to-People works in collaboration with the Parish Council and the Ladies Philoptochos Society One might ask why the Outreach Program is so important. Read what St. John Chrysostom wrote back in the fourth century: &Nothing Contributes to a virtuous and moral way of life as does the time you spend here in church. Nothing can set your lives straight and make them exactly right so much as can your constant attendance at church and your eager listening to what is said here& All of us must reach out and encourage those who have been less active in church life - be it father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister as well as friends - to be a vital part of St. George and make Christ central in their everyday life. It is important for all of us to be good-will ambassadors. We should welcome everyone to St. George. Not only the newcomers but regular attendees. Welcoming people is an ongoing ministry. To this end, we have established our Greeters Group every Sunday. Please join us in this Ministry of Love! Relationships are a determining factor why people stay and return to church. If you are interested in being a Sunday greeter or would like to join us in Outreach contact anyone on the Outreach Committee or call Stella Pappas (248) 642-4274. Attention All Young Mothers St. George is in the process of organizing a Young Mother's Club for all who are interested. Watch the weekly bulletins and emails for details to come soon. Return to Top Philoptochos Diane Ryeson, President View Philoptochos Calendar of Events for 2010 Benefit Dinner Update: Philoptochos was very pleased with the success of the Benefit Dinner for the Nick Family. We again thank everyone who helped to make that happen. We all agreed it was a great time for all of us from Goya, to Philoptochos, our parish council, and family members, all working together for such a great cause. We also want to thank Highland House and Tomato Brothers Restaurants, their donations made it possible for us to reach our goal. One Can - Please continue to support our food pantry. Just one can (or box, or personal health care item, etc.) from each of us every week will help keep it stocked. We CAN make a difference ONE person at a time! NOTE - If you are unsure what to purchase, we will accept monetary donations and do the shopping for you.
