Community Care Projects - Check the St. George Parish News and Calendar for dates of current events. "Pantry" - Many thanks for your support for the Backpack Program for the children and families at WHRC Elementary School. Your generosity in supplying groceries for the families is much appreciated. 92% of the children in this school live below the poverty line. Taking groceries home for the weekend enabled them to have something to eat on Saturday and Sunday. We will resume the program in mid August in preparation of the opening of school. It is important that we purchase the items noted on the Emergency Grocery list only. Any questions about the program, call Stella Pappas. St. George Pontiac After School Program This year we will be providing a story time program at Jefferson Elementary School for a group of children grades K - 3rd. We will be looking for donations of snacks, drinks and specific books based on our reading program. This program will begin in January and run through the school year.
